Christmas Box Card & Diagonal Pocket Card

For something just that little bit different we made this triangle box card and it was a bit of a challenge. Once you have the gist of how it works though it's quite easy.  Made with Kaisercraft's "Choir" paper but it could be made in any designer paper and for any occasion. The sleigh is from Marianne Creatables and is LR0178.

As you can see the strip across the middle slides off to allow you to open the box. Inside you can put money, or a gift card or something small like a hanky for Grandma. A cute novel way to give someone something small.

To decorate the centrepiece I've used Labels 4 from Spellbinders and the sleigh. Roses from Green Tara and some seam binding for the bow. Plus of course my favourite punch Martha Stewart's Lace Doiley for the sides of the box.

Diagonal Double Pocket Card

In the same class we also made this Triangle pocket card. This design was shown to me by one of my customers Mavis. I thought it was quite intriguing and again easy to do when you know how. I'll try to pop some instructions up for you later on.

Inside the pockets I've added Labels from Marianne Creatables LR0154. Sentiments from Stamp-It and JustRite Stampers on the Beaded Ovals tag. The paper is from Prima's Butterfly Garden collection.

August Challenge

Thank you to everyone who entered the August Challenge. The theme was "Beautiful Borders" and I think it was quite a challenge as we didn't get as many entries as usual. We did get some gorgeous cards though and the winner this time was   Glenda   with her stunning ivory and gold card using the Quickutz Die - Petite Petals. Congratulations Glenda, you now have a $20 voucher to spend in store.   Here is Glenda's winning card     The encouragement award this month goes to Jean Riches for her lovely use of the Marianne Die to create a fan. What a great idea! The die itself is gorgeous but teamed up with this beautiful Martha Stewart punched border and hand made flowers, it's beautiful. Well done Jean.     This card was also made by Glenda and it takes the theme of borders out of the box, by using flowers as the border. Clever idea!   Rhonda's card using one of my favourite dies in turquoise and white, again with some lovely p
