Week 7

Card 1

Well actually it wasn't a card we made this week it was a little handbag gift box. Very simple and easy to make with just one sheet of Bazzill Basics 12" x 12" card and some designer paper. One of my ladies (customers) had asked to make a handbag and one had asked to do a particular type of insert for a bag, so I combined the two. I did however give my ladies two options, a simple quick and easy one or the more involved and time consuming one. I was really surprised that most chose the second option but we did have a lot of fun putting them together.
For this first one we used My Mind's Eye paper with glitter on one side in gorgeous browns and pinks.

On the front we used some Spellbinders classic scalloped circles and classic standard circles to act as a clip to tuck the flap behind. The sentiment is a Just Rite stamp.

Some ribbon for a handle and inside is a little pocket for a gift card.

This is the second version where we added some pop up flowers. All the flowers were made using the same paper and some punches.

Card 2

Card 2 this week was made using Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles and Classic Standard Circles.  It's a gate fold card where all the circles interlock in the centre.

I used Martha Stewart punches to decorate the top and bottom with some pearls for added bling. The stamped sentiment is from Kaisercraft.

Here you can see the way the circles interlock as you close the card.
I added a bow on the purple outer circle and the 3D in the centre is a die cut from Reddy.

Thanks for stopping by today.

August Challenge

Thank you to everyone who entered the August Challenge. The theme was "Beautiful Borders" and I think it was quite a challenge as we didn't get as many entries as usual. We did get some gorgeous cards though and the winner this time was   Glenda   with her stunning ivory and gold card using the Quickutz Die - Petite Petals. Congratulations Glenda, you now have a $20 voucher to spend in store.   Here is Glenda's winning card     The encouragement award this month goes to Jean Riches for her lovely use of the Marianne Die to create a fan. What a great idea! The die itself is gorgeous but teamed up with this beautiful Martha Stewart punched border and hand made flowers, it's beautiful. Well done Jean.     This card was also made by Glenda and it takes the theme of borders out of the box, by using flowers as the border. Clever idea!   Rhonda's card using one of my favourite dies in turquoise and white, again with some lovely p
